LET ME EXPLAIN! 😅 ⬇️

I’ve kept this secret for over a year now because I’ve been afraid to speak it in this industry— but here’s my story:

I take great pride in durable, professional finishes for my clients (and myself). I used to prime before painting every time because that’s what I was told to do. This new paint line came out that said NO PRIMER needed… skip the step, save the time and money —that this paint has superior adhesion to most anything— even GLASS and laminate. I was hesitant, so I continued to prime before painting. Until…

I was refinishing a dresser and the top was made of laminate. I scuff sanded the surface using an electric orbital sander and then primed using an expensive, high quality primer. Hours later, that primer that was supposed to help with adhesion scraped right off. I was devastated (who likes to work backwards?). So I scraped it all off, easily, and remembered that this new paint line promised superior adhesion. So I put it to the test. I applied @farmhousepaint in their new EVOLUTION line, waited a couple hours and scratched it. Guess what? It stuck!! I scratched and scratched and scratched to be sure it wouldn’t come off, and it was stuck.

Going forward, anytime I have a surface I’m skeptical about, I clean it, scuff it, and apply Evolution paint first, as my primer. Even if I’m finishing the piece using a different paint line afterwards. I trust Evolution for adhesion over primer now. Have you ever had you primer scrape off?? 😣

Color: “Converted Navy”

🎨 🎨 Comment “SKIP” and I’ll message you a link with a DISCOUNT code to this new paint! (I do earn a small commission on sales) **IF your profile is set to PRIVATE, Instagram doesn’t give me the option to message you, so please send me a message first. 😊
